ULTRASOUND-GUIDED BREAST BIOPSY
Many breast diseases can be diagnosed by physical examination, mammography or other imaging methods. However, it may not always be possible to distinguish whether they are benign or malignant. With breast biopsy, sample tissues are taken from the suspicious area and a definite diagnosis is made by microscope. It is not intended to remove all of the suspected area with biopsy. However, all very small tumors can be removed.

Local anesthesia is applied to the area to be biopsied. The biopsy needle is advanced into the area to be biopsied.
