Holter test is essentially an examination for the analysis of heartbeats, ie heart rhythm. As long as the device is on you, it records your heartbeat and heart rhythm continuously. Changes in your heart rate and heart rhythm are recorded.

How is a rhythm Holter performed?
The examination starts when the recording device is connected to 7 electrodes that are affixed to certain parts of the chest and the system is activated. All your heartbeats are recorded for the desired period of time (usually 24-48 hours). You carry the recording device (the size of a cell phone) with you during the review. You can easily do your daily work and activities.
Is the examination harmful in any way?
Holter test does not harm you.
What are the things I should and should not do during the Holter test?
Cell phones and magnetic doors may distort the holter recordings. Therefore, as long as you carry holter on you, keep the use of mobile phones very limited, stay away from magnetic doors, do not use electric blankets.
Do not take a bath while you are carrying the holter on you. Make sure that the device and its connections are not wet.
If, during the Holter recording, you experience the complaints that led to this examination (palpitations, dizziness, dimming of vision, etc.), press the button on the device and note the hour and minute of your complaint. This will improve the quality of the review.
At the end of the examination period, gently detach the device and connection cables by disconnecting them from your body. Never remove the batteries of the device. If you remove it, the entire record will be deleted.
